The Third International IEEE International Workshop on Global Trends in SMART Cities (IEEE goSMART 2014) was held in Edmonton, Canada in conjunction with the 39th IEEE Conference on Local Computer Networks (IEEE LCN 2014). In its first edition the workshop attracted 7 submissions from 6 different countries. Each paper went through a rigorous peer review process, with each submission receiving at least 4 reviews from members of the Technical Program Committee as well as from external reviewers. Based on the referee reports, 4 papers were accepted as full paper and 1 paper was accepted as short paper for presentation at the workshop.
