Abstract
No presente artigo, tomando por fundamento ideias e conceitos da psicologia histórico-cultural de Lev Semionovitch Vigotski, especialmente no campo da pedologia - ciência do desenvolvimento sistemático da criança, tecem-se algumas reflexões sobre educação e cuidados com bebês e crianças até os três anos de idade. São apontadas características importantes da consciência da criança bem pequena; em seguida, enunciam-se seus direitos e indica-se a necessidade de políticas mais vigorosas visando à sua garantia. Além disso, defende-se a importância de implementação de outros tipos de políticas públicas, além de creches, para a proteção da maternidade e da infância.Palavras-chave: Vigotski. Pedologia.
