Abstract
Radical lesbianism is an intellectual and political movement that has as its core an analysis of heterosexuality as a system of domination and lesbianism as the political resistance to that system. It positioned itself in distinction to feminism, either as separate from it or as its revolutionary vanguard. It is most famously associated with France and Québec, in particular with the theoretical writing of Monique Wittig, but it has also had expressions in the Western English‐speaking world.
