Abstract
L'ouvrage que Nolle Deflou-Leca consacre l'abbaye de Saint-Germain d'Auxerre est la version remanie de sa thse de doctorat soutenue l'Universit de Bourgogne en 2000, sous la direction d'Alain Saint-Denis. Le propos de l'auteur est d'tudier l'insertion de l'abbaye dans la socit travers un double rseau : celui des dpendances et celui des donateurs. L'ouvrage reprsente une vaste tude allant de l'poque de la fondation, du temps de l'vque Germain (418-448), la fin du XIII e sicle, quand l'abbaye se dtache de la tutelle clunisienne et entreprend la rdaction de deux cartulaires : le Grand Cartulaire, compos dans la seconde moiti du XIII e , et le cartulaire de la Pitancerie, ou Petit Cartulaire.
