La Conférence d’Ottawa s’est terminée par une table ronde ministérielle. Celle-ci avait pour but de discuter des succès remportés et des défis à relever sur le plan de la mesure de la performance des systèmes de santé. On souhaitait aussi traiter de l’incidence de ces mesures sur l’élaboration des politiques. Le Secrétaire général de l’OCDE, Donald Johnston, a invité les ministres de la Santé des pays Membres à partager leurs idées sur trois questions : • Dans quelle mesure le compte rendu des performances peut-il devenir un instrument important de la politique et de la gestion de la santé ? • Quels sont les avantages et les risques potentiels de la diffusion de rapports publics sur la performance ? • Les pays peuvent-ils améliorer la performance de leurs systèmes de santé en partageant de l’information et, dans l’affirmative, comment devrait-ils procéder ? Les allocutions d’ouverture de chaque ministre ont été suivies d’une période de « questions et réponses » avec les participants à la conférence
