Großzügiges Iod: Die Reaktionen von AgMF6 mit I2 in flüssigem SO2 liefern [(AgI2)n]⋅n MF6 (M=Sb, As). Diese Festkörper bestehen aus [(AgI2)n]n+-Ketten, die entlang der c-Achse gestapelt und durch Schichten von [MF6]−-Ionen voneinander getrennt sind (siehe Bild). [(AgI2)n]n+ ist die erste homoleptische Molekül-Dihalogen-Spezies und eines von wenigen Beispielen, in denen molekulares I2 als Donor koordiniert ist.
