Abstract
Multisited ethnography advances a transnational research method that follows peoples, objects, and ideas that are connected across a number of sites. Numerous studies of migration, media, and development have adopted this approach. Yet important shortcomings remain concerning the practicality of the method, the rationale, and the approach's relationship to theory and history.
