In the second quarter of 2018, Lanxess generated global sales of €1.83 billion, an increase of 6.8% versus sales of €1.71 billion in the same quarter of 2017. EBITDA pre-exceptionals improved by 3.6% to €290 million in 2Q 2018 compared with €280 million the previous year, while net income increased ‘very sharply’ to €126 million from €3 million in the 2017 quarter, in which substantial exceptional charges were posted.
