Abstract
Abstract Bisexuality is a sexual orientation characterized by attraction to members of more than one sex. Often, bisexuality is thought of as attraction to both men and women; however, neither sex (i.e., biological and chromosomal traits that determine whether a person is male or female) nor gender (i.e., socially constructed behaviors and traits associated with femininity and masculinity) are always dichotomous. As with other sexual orientations (i.e., heterosexual, lesbian, gay), a bisexual orientation is an enduring pattern of attraction, sexual behavior, emotional affection, social contacts, and personal identity oriented toward individuals of more than one sex.
