Ce chapitre examine l’outil d’analyse comparative entre les sexes plus (ACS+) et sa mise en œuvre au Canada, et formule des recommandations afin d’en optimiser le potentiel à l’appui de l’amélioration de l’égalité des sexes par le biais de l’action gouvernementale. On y étudie également dans quelle mesure le cadre de performances et de résultats facilite la réalisation et le suivi des progrès en termes d’égalité des sexes. Le gouvernement du Canada travaille en ce sens et a créé récemment le Comité du Cabinet chargé du programme gouvernemental, des résultats et des communications, et mis sur pied, pour l’appuyer, une Unité des résultats et de la livraison au sein du Bureau du Conseil privé (BCP). La mise au point du Cadre des résultats relatifs aux sexes au titre du budget de 2018 constitue par ailleurs un jalon important. Les prochaines étapes devraient être axées sur le renforcement des liens à la fois en amont, avec des objectifs spécifiques énoncés dans une stratégie pour l’égalité des sexes au Canada, et en aval, avec les cadres de résultats et d’exécution ministériels.
