Die von der University Microfilms in Ann Arbor (Michigan) hrsg. periodische Publikation verzeichnet die von dieser Firma auf Mikrofilm beziehbaren Dissertationen. Bei der Gründung 1938 nahmen fünf amerikanische Univ. an diesem Unternehmen teil (Michigan, Nebraska, Princeton, Stanford und Toronto). Der ursprüngliche Titel lautete Microfilm Abstracts. 1952 wurde er in Dissertation Abstracts, 1972 in Dissertation Abstracts International geändert.
