Abstract
Pour cette quatrième collaboration à Rabaska, le Centre de conservation du Québec (Ccq) nous offre trois textes dont le fil conducteur est la découverte. Aude Connord, de l’atelier métal-pierre, raconte comment la découverte de capsules temporelles cachées à l’intérieur d’une statue au moment de sa création a permis d’en savoir un peu plus sur le contexte de l’époque. Louise Lalonger, restauratrice à l’atelier des textiles, explique que la découverte de deux boîtes de dessins, poncifs et patrons par l’archiviste du monastère des Ursulines à Québec, a permis d’associer certains de ces documents à des oeuvres de collections. Claude Payer, de l’atelier des sculptures, fait le récit des petites découvertes documentaires qui, au fil de recherches s’étalant sur plus de vingt ans, lui ont permis de retrouver un tabernacle ancien attribué aux frères Levasseur, grands sculpteurs au xviiie siècle, tabernacle que tous croyaient disparu depuis longtemps.
