Peace, Peace, a thing so dear to all mankind. Whose meaning and looks are true and kind, Whose reign on earth are known to two, Adam and Eve, who flouted her law, To live and reign like gods on earth. Come, come, for voices are drowned in fear, When we remember the day of thy wrath. Peace, Peace, where livest thou now? Or hast thou fled the earth? Where once thy glory and honour stood, Before that Dupe severed man from you. Listen now to our shameful call In this tormenting age of rage, When every atom splits in space And leaves mankind for ever daunted. Peace, Peace, we pray thee once again.
