Abstract
Explorant l'utilisation passée et présente de l'anglais au sein de l'American Anthropological Association, cette entrée examine les efforts et les contradictions dans les politiques et pratiques linguistiques au sein de l'organisation centrale de l'AAA et de ses nombreuses sections. Elle tente d'expliquer comment l'anglais est devenu la seule langue de communication même si les anthropologues apprennent généralement les langues dont ils ont besoin pour leur travail de terrain.
