Abstract Retail ‐ Furniture & Home Furnishings (MIC: 5.9 SIC: 5712 NAIC: 442110) Pier 1 Imports is a retailer of decorative home furnishings, furniture, dining and kitchen goods, bath and bedding accessories and other specialty items for the home. As of Feb 26 2005, Co. operated 1,070 Pier 1 Imports® stores in the U.S. and 80 stores in Canada, and also supported seven franchised stores in the U.S. In addition, Co. operated 32 stores located in the U.K. under the name The Pier® and 45 Pier 1 Kids® stores located in the U.S. Co. also supplies merchandise, and licenses the Pier 1 Imports name to Sears Mexico and Sears Puerto Rico, which sells Pier 1 merchandise in a store within a store format in 24 Sears Mexico stores and in seven Sears Puerto Rico stores.
