Abstract
Dans cette affaire, le Conseil canadien des relations du travail précise la portée de la protection accordée par le Code canadien du travail aux représentations faites par les porte-parole syndicaux. La majorité conclut que l'opinion émise dans le cadre de devoirs syndicaux au sujet d'une politique économique gouvernementale pouvant toucher les membres du syndicat constitue une activité syndicale protégée aux termes des articles 8 et 94(l)a) du Code. Selon l'opinion dissidente, seules des déclarations portant sur des sujets ayant un intérêt dans le cadre du processus de négociation collective sont protégées.
