Abstract
Ré-écrire une histoire des Etats-Unis représentait pour Jean-Michel Lacroix une gageure. D’autre part, comme il s’en explique dans son avant-propos, son intention n’est pas d’écrire une histoire "totale", qui incluerait également une étude de la société et de la culture américaines.
