Abstract
A Surprising SEG truth: One class of membership is declining! And it has nothing to do with the worlds economy. The total SEG membership is about 33,000 with approximately 11,000 student members. It is the Active membership that is declining! It has been declining since the late 1990s. Today there are 8822 Active Members. There are about 5200 Active Members in the United States and 700 in Canada. There are about 13,000 Associate Members. These are the “approximate” facts.
