Abstract
İnsanlık, avcı-toplayıcı ve göçebe hayat tarzını tecrübe ettikten sonra, bir arada yaşama zorunluluğundan doğan yerleşik hayat tarzına geçerek, insanın insana zorunlu olduğu şehir hayatını meydana getirmiştir. Başlangıçta doğanın sunduklarıyla yetinen insanlığın ilk ataları, yerleşik hayata geçişle birlikte tarımsal üretim ve ticaret hayatını meydana getirmiştir. Orta Anadolu’da M.Ö. 7000’li yıllarda Konya-Çatalhöyük, birbirine bitişik kerpiçten yapılmış evleri, hayvanların evcilleştirilmesi ve tarımsal üretimiyle kentsel hayatın ilk öncüsü olmuştur. Konya’da Çatalhöyük, Alâeddin Tepesi Höyüğü ve Karahöyük’le başlayan kentsel yaşam, Roma, Bizans, Selçuklu ve Osmanlı kültür ve medeniyetlerini de tecrübe ederek günümüze kadar ulaşmıştır. Adını mitolojik bir öyküden alan Konya, tarihi süreçlerde Ycconium, Conium, Stancona, Conia, Konien ve Konia ve en son Konya olarak coğrafyasında sosyo-kültürel hayatı ile bitmeyen bir hikâyenin mekânı olmuştur.Son yıllarda turizmin gelişmesine paralel olarak ülkeler, turizmden daha fazla pay alabilmek için birbirleri ile rekabet eder duruma gelmiştir. Bu bağlamda yöneticiler, şehirlerin sahip oldukları turistik çekiciliklerini ön plana çıkartarak tanıtım ve pazarlama çalışmalarına hız vermişlerdir. Çalışmamızın birinci aşamasında, gerek ilahi dinler öncesi, gerek ilahi dinler sonrası süreçlerde kesintisiz olarak farklı medeniyetlere ev sahipliği yapan Konya’nın turizm çekicilikleri; kültür, inanç, sağlık, doğa ve gastronomi turizmi açısından değerlendirilmiştir. Daha sonra, Konya’nın şehir turizmine ilişkin farklı boyutları ve bileşenleri üzerinden bir SWOT analizi yapılmıştır.
