Abstract
The research seeks to know the experiences and perspectives of twenty-eight people who suffer from some type of emotional disorder, about psychotherapy, alternative therapies, the use of psychotropic and alternative medicine, and the symptoms that led to their diagnosis or self-diagnosis. A qualitative survey was carried out, disseminated from different social networks in groups related to the theme. The results show a good experience with psychotherapy, alternative treatments, and alternative medicine as an adjunct to treatment. While it highlights a high number of testimonies against the effectiveness of psychotropic drugs and their side effects. In addition, there is a high rate of self-diagnosis in the people surveyed.
