55. Intégrer l’éducation aux adultes au système d'éducation

Abstract
Deux grandes revendications ressortent du mémoire de l’Institut canadien d’éducation aux adultes. D’une part, il s’impose de sortir l’éducation des adultes de la marginalité sociale et institutionnelle dans laquelle elle se trouve confinée. Cela implique de dresser un inventaire des pratiques, de faire la surveillance des intervenants, de fournir une information adéquate à la population sur les possibilités offertes et, surtout, cela implique l’« intégration de l’enseignement aux adultes aux organismes qui régiront chacun des secteurs de l’enseignement : primaire, secondaire, professionnel, universitaire ». Dans chaque ordre d’enseignement, des spécialistes devraient développer des « programmes appropriés aux adultes ». D’autre part, l’ICÉA réclame la formation d’organismes de coordination : une « commission de l’enseignement aux adultes » et un « conseil de l’éducation populaire ». Ces idées auront des suites dans le nouveau système d’éducation issu des recommandations du rapport Parent.
