La recherche qualitative possède les outils intellectuels et les pratiques de recherche pour contribuer à la définition des groupes et de leurs rapports sociaux et d’insertion dans des contextes spécifiques. Dans ce travail, nous avons choisi de situer le rapport entre la recherche qualitative et l’action collective — qu’elle soit de recherche ou d’intervention — dans le travail avec des groupes. Nous voudrions présenter une vision d’ensemble des méthodes d’évaluation groupale qui sont fréquemment utilisées en Amérique latine (la systématisation d’expériences et le schéma SWOT) pour montrer leur contribution à mettre davantage en évidence les dynamiques et les réseaux des groupes. Après avoir situé le problème vécu par les groupes de l’évaluation communautaire de leur travail auprès de leurs membres et de leurs interlocuteurs externes, nous décrivons et analysons la documentation et tirons des conclusions qui peuvent mieux montrer cette contribution de la recherche qualitative au travail auprès des groupes.
