Abstract
Cover description: In 2011, the Taku River First Nation signed a land-use agreement with the government of British Columbia to protect the majority of the Atlin Taku region while still allowing for future development in selective regions. Similar land-use plans among First Nations across the Canadian Boreal are proving to be an effective means for balancing conservation with economic development in a way that empowers Indigenous governments and communities.
