Abstract
resumo -Objetivo: O objetivo do presente trabalho foi verificar o efeito do exerccio isomtrico com variao no percentual da contrao voluntria mxima e no tamanho dos grupos musculares recrutados sobre a resposta cardiovascular materna e fetal. Materiais e mtodos: A amostra foi constituda de 37 mulheres saudveis, sedentrias que foram divididas em dois grupos, grvidas (n=13) e no grvidas (n=24). No primeiro dia foi determinada a contrao voluntria mxima (CVM) nos dinammetros de preenso manual e no de extenso de costas e pernas. No dia seguinte foram realizados testes a 30% e 50% dos valores previamente obtidos em ambos os dinammetros. Resultados: O percentual da contrao voluntria mxima no afetou a freqncia cardaca materna e fetal quando uma menor massa muscular foi recrutada (dinammetro de preenso manual). Quando uma grande massa muscular foi acionada (dinammetro de extenso de costas e pernas) o principal fator na determinao da freqncia cardaca materna e fetal no foi o percentual da contrao voluntria mxima, mas a prpria quantidade de massa muscular.
