Abstract

Sci. 2015, 38, 3862–3869 DOI: 10.1002/jssc.201500623 Atmospheric pressure photoionization coupled with liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry has been used to analyze 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in cigarette smoke condensate. Atmospheric pressure photoionization is able to efficiently ionize lesspolar compounds and enhance the ionization efficiency through the activation of appropriate reaction channels under the condition of a dopant. The results indicated the concentrations of the individual polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon compound and the total polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons content increased with the labeled tar content under the International Standardization Organization smoking regime and the Health Canadian intense smoking regime.
