Abstract
La psychiatrie moderne est à un tournant de son histoire où les usagers prennent une place croissante dans les services de santé mentale. Dans le cadre du Centre collaborateur de l’OMS (Lille, France) pour la recherche et la formation en santé mentale, une recherche-action est menée depuis 3 ans intégrant des usagers en tant qu’experts d’expérience. À travers de nombreux témoignages d’usagers, d’une formation sur la résilience et de découverte expériences novatrices en Europe et au Canada, le groupe de recherche a élaboré de nouveaux concepts et mis en place plusieurs actions allant dans le sens d’une reconquête de la citoyenneté. Trois étapes ont été décrites aux niveaux individuel, groupal et sociétal pour enrayer à chaque niveau le cycle de la stigmatisation et entrer dans la dynamique du rétablissement. La perspective de la création en France d’un statut de pairs-aidants est une des illustrations de la reconnaissance possible de l’expertise spécifique des usagers à partir de leurs expériences.
