Abstract
The following Forum essays offer a dynamic counterpoint to the featured articles that precede them.Continuing the exploration of theatre without or beyond borders, the first two pieces investigate the aesthetic and political challenges, as well as the rewards, of producing translated versions of Englishlanguage Canadian plays elsewhere.Dragana Varagic and Kathleen Irwin write about their artistic collaboration on the Montenegrin production of Margaret Atwood's The Penelopiad, while Samer El-Saber documents his experience as the director of a translated production of Arthur Milner's Facts, which toured Israel and Palestine.Patrick Blenkarn rounds out the Forum section with a very different take on borders and the politics of performance, issuing a passionate yet playful call for theatre artists and scholars to look more closely at the role that objects and other often-disappeared non-humans play in theatrical productions.Together, these Forum essays urge theatre artists and scholars to continue pushing beyond traditional borders to find new approaches to making and writing about theatre.
