Abstract

The work in Breakthrough came about through a convergence of two initiatives. The first initiative has been undertaken by Peter Hilland Carmel Crévola (2001), who had implemented a very successful children’s literacy strategy in a large Catholic district in Melbourne, Australia. A second initiative draws on a similar work conducted by Michael Fullan in a large public urban district, York District Region School Board (YRDSB) near Toronto, Canada. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
