Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Catholic educational leaders expressed unhappiness with government plans to increase funding for schools. While Catholic schools will receive more funding under the proposal, leaders say that the way parental contributions are estimated is flawed to their disadvantage. The European Court of Human Rights ruled that a 2011 Belgian law that banned the wearing of full or partial face coverings does not violate principles of religious freedom. The court said that the law is justified insofar as it was designed to promote the smooth functioning of a democratic society. Quebec’s Tribunal for Human Rights ruled in favor of a Jewish hair stylist who wanted to work on Saturday despite his Jewish employer’s insistence that no one in her establishment work on the Jewish Sabbath. Richard Zilberg said that Saturday was his best day and that he thought it was his right to be able to work. The business owner, Iris Gressy, fired Zilberg. The tribunal awarded Zilberg $6,006 for material damages, $4,000 for moral damages, and $2,500 in punitive damages.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
