Depuis le tournant du XXe siècle, la marionnette n’est plus seulement un instrument théâtral spécifique, mais un modèle ou un idéal esthétique, un régime d’énonciation et de représentation alternatif qui, de façon explicite ou latente, continue d’inspirer les auteurs quelle que soit la nature des interprètes auxquels ils destinent officiellement leurs textes. Cet article se propose de déterminer quelles sont les caractéristiques du « marionnettique » et quelles sont leurs conséquences pour la dramaturgie et le jeu de l’acteur.
