Abstract
En 1759, Louis-Pierre Poulin de Courval Cressé entreprit la construction de trois corvettes au chantier naval de Point au Baril (à Maitland, en Ontario), sur la rive du Saint-Laurent. Deux des navires (TOutaouaise et l'Iroquoisej furent gréés et mis en service sur le fleuve et le lac Ontario. En août 1760, ils furent tous deux capturés - comme le navire non complété - au Fort Lévis ou dans ses environs par les troupes de Jeffery Amherst. Renommés respectivement Williamson et Anson, on s'en servit pour le transport d'approvisionnements du haut des rapides du Saint-Laurent jusqu'à Oswego et Niagara. Ils furent tous deux endommagés pendant leur service français; à titre de navires de transport britanniques, les deux turent perdus à cause de conditions météorologiques difficiles ou des plaines alluvionnaires.
