Brasileira de Geofísica Este texto foi preparado para a apresentação no II Simpósio de Geofísica da Sociedade Brasileira de Geofísica, Natal, 21-23 de setembro de 2006.Seu conteúdo foi revisado pela Comissão Tecno-científica do II SR-SBGf, mas não necessariamente representa a opinião da SBGf ou de seus associados.E proibida a reprodução total ou parcial deste material para propósitos comerciais sem prévia autorização da SBGf.____________________________________________________________________ Resumo O presente trabalho faz uma análise qualitativa do limite de resolução da inversão de SEV na presença de ruído.Para tal, implementamos um método de inversão híbrido, combinando o método global VFSA com o método local clássico de Gauss-Newton.Analisamos dois modelos sintéticos clássicos da literatura: o modelo simples e de baixa resolução de Inman, de apenas três camadas, e o modelo de Gai-Shan, de cinco camadas, com variações sensíveis da espessura e da resistividade.Os resultados mostraram que, para o modelo simples de Inman, a estabilidade da inversão é mantida mesmo na presença de ruído de 20%.Já o modelo de Gai-Shan só foi recuperado para os ensaios sem ruído.Na presença de ruído foi verificada uma forte instabilidade na inversão.Esta instabilidade indica claramente que existe um limite de resolução na inversão de SEV.
