Abstract
La sociologie interactionniste étatsunienne est un des moteurs de l’étude des corps sexués au travail, qui se développe à partir des années 1980 en lien avec l’expansion massive des emplois de service et la place centrale attribuée au corps dans la production des services. L’entrée des femmes dans les métiers traditionnellement masculins, et vice versa , a également contribué à la constitution du champ. D’autres approches telles que la psychodynamique du travail en France et l’ergonomie du travail au Québec mettent au jour la dimension sexuée de la souffrance au travail et des stratégies de défense collectives mobilisées contre cette souffrance. Les recherches en sociologie et en histoire montrent que la construction de la différence au travail, fondée sur la différence des corps sexués, se fait le plus souvent au détriment des femmes, que ce soit dans les métiers majoritairement féminins, masculins ou mixtes.
