Abstract
El pensamiento conservador dominicano tiene una continuidad, se pueden trazar sus líneas y se puede seguir su devenir histórico. Desde el ataque de Bobadilla y Santana a la empresa liberal duartiana hasta nuestros días de reivindicación de Joaquín Balaguer y su doctrina política. Dentro de estas líneas, la vertiente histórica ha sido de primordial. El nuestro es un pueblo que gusta de la historia (cada año el inefable José Rafael Lantigua registra los libros dominicanos más vendidos y los de historia suelen estar a la cabeza, pero ese afán del escaso público lector dominicano por la historia, es generalmente de carácter indiscriminado: se lee casi todo, así conviven Manuel Núñez y Róberto Cassá.
