Dalam proses framing pada akhirnya akan membawa efek. Karena sebuah realitas bisa jadi dibingkai dan dimaknai berbeda oleh media, bahkan pemaknaan itu bisa jadi akan sangat berbeda. Realitas sosial yang kompleks penuh dimensi dan tidak beraturan, disajikan dalam berita sebagai sesuatu yang sederhana, beraturan dan memenuhi logika tertentu. Berdasarkan penyederhanaan atas kompleksnya realitas yang disajikan media, menimbulkan efek framing, yaitu: Pertama. Framing yang dilakukan media akan menonjolkan aspek tertentu dan mengaburkan aspek yang lain. Framing umumnya ditandai dengan menonjolkan aspek tertentu dari realitas, akibatnya ada aspek lain yang tidak mendapat perhatian yang memadai. Kedua. Framing yang dilakukan oleh media akan menampilkan sisi tertentu dan melupakan sisi yang lain. Dengan menampilkan sisi tertentu dalam berita ada sisi lain yang terlupakan, menyebabkan aspek lain yang penting dalam memahami realitas tidak mendapat liputan dalam berita. Ketiga. Framing yang dilakukan media akan menampilkan aktor tertentu dan menyembunyikan aktor yang lain. Efek yang segera terlihat dalam pemberitaan yang memfokuskan pada satu pihak, menyebabkan pihak lain yang mungkin relevan dalam pemberitaan menjadi tersembunyi.
