Abstract
Algonquin Section OWoodland of native grasses and eucalyptus and wattle in the Grampion Mountains in SE Australia.This area is an important source of water and native wildlife.Water is in scarce supply in the State of Victoria and is traded to its highest value.Karri forest in SW Australia.These towering trees, many over 65m, are highly valued for their timber and ecological functions.Much of the karri forest has been cleared for vineyards, orchards, ranching and plantation forestry.A large portion of the remaining forests is now protected from development.The Forestry Chronicle Downloaded from pubs.cif-ifc.orgby 44.212.96.143 on 09/01/23 For personal use only.
