Reduction of CO/sub 2/ from combustion gases by DC corona torches

Abstract
An experimental investigation has been conducted to reduce CO/sub 2/ from combustion gases by using DC corona torches. The advantages of the corona torch are the capability of controlling the streamer corona discharge path by the gas flow route and cooling the electrode surfaces by the gas flow. The model combustion gas (N/sub 2/:O/sub 2/:CO/sub 2/=0.745:0.15:0.105) was used together with argon as the mixture gas. The results show that the CO/sub 2/ gas reduction rate increases with increasing corona current when argon gas is seeded.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
