Abstract Food (MIC: SIC: 5812 NAIC: 722211) McDonald's primarily franchises and operates McDonald's restaurants. Co.'s business is operated in distinct geographic segments: U.S.; Europe; Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa; and Other Countries and Corporate that includes operations in Latin America and Canada. In addition, Co. has a minority ownership interest in U.K.‐based Pret A Manger. As of Dec 31 2007, Co. had 31,377 McDonald's restaurants in 118 countries, with 20,505 operated by franchisees that include 2,781 which are operated by developmental licensees, 3,966 that are operated by affiliates as well as 6,906 that are Company‐operated.
