AuszugBereits die Ottawa-Charta der Weltgesundheitsorganisation hat deutlich gemacht, das Gesundheit nicht in der Alleinverantwortung mehr oder weniger gesundheitsbewusster Individuen liegt, sondern wesentlich auch ein Produkt der gesellschaftlichen und ökologischen Rahmenbedingungen ist. „Grundlegende Bedingungen und konstituierende Momente der Gesundheit sind Frieden, angemessene Wohnbedingungen, Bildung, Ernährung, Einkommen, ein stabiles Ökosystem, eine sorgfältige Behandlung der vorhandenen Energiequellen, soziale Gerechtigkeit und Chancengleichheit“ (Franzkowiak & Sabo 1993: 96). Folgerichtig ist auch Gesundheitsförderung quasi konstitutiv primär ein sozial-emanzipatorisches Projekt, eine Zieldimension, die angesichts von Wellnessboom und vor allem von Marketingfachleuten entwickelten gut gemeinten, aber wirkungslosen „Gesundheits“-kampagnen leicht in Vergessenheit geraten kann.
