Le commentaire qui suit porte sur l’ouvrage du professeur Jean-Claude Gémar et de la terminologue et traductrice Vo Ho-Thuy consacré aux nouvelles difficultés du langage juridique au Canada (2016). Il est présenté à la lumière des débats et réflexions du 11e Institut de jurilinguistique de l’Université McGill. Dans un contexte transsystémique et multilingue, la question de l’identité juridique culturelle et de son évolution implique non seulement la prise en considération de la diversité linguistique, juridique et culturelle, mais aussi celle de l’accessibilité de la langue et du droit, dans une perspective d’égalité. En identifiant les défis soulevés par une telle odyssée, il s’agit de mettre en relief les instruments et les approches qui caractérisent la navigation jurilinguistique.
