Abstract
Cet article explore la relation entre réalité et fiction qui s’élabore au moment où le chercheur entreprend de fouiller les archives d’écrivains, plus précisément ici celles de Louis Dantin, d’Alfred DesRochers et de John Glassco. Divers regards sur les fonds d’archive contribuent à tromper les attentes de ceux qui avaient espéré voir surgir l’écrivain à visage découvert de la consultation de ses lettres et documents. Comme l’ont montré Hélène Cixous et Jacques Derrida, le secret de l’archive n’est pas celui que l’on croit. Le chercheur en quête de « vérité » participe peut-être, consciemment ou non, aux processus de création.
