Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

These are exciting times for those interested in the interaction of genetic and environmental factors in disease. Folic acid has recently gained a great deal of prominence as a biologically important molecule. The ingestion of folate before conception and continued during pregnancy can protect against both the occurrence and the recurrence of birth defects, in particular neural tube defects such as anencephaly and spina bifida.(n1) In addition, in recent years, homocysteine has been shown to be an independent risk factor for cerebrovascular, coronary artery and thrombotic diseases; folate is an effective way to lower levels of total plasma homocysteine (tHcy).(n2) A role for folate has also been proposed in the etiology and prevention of a wide variety of diseases including cancer and Alzheimer disease.(n3-n5)...

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
