Abstract
Ce texte envisage d’abord les effets d’une accession éventuelle du Québec à la souveraineté en termes d’acquisition de la nationalité québécoise au moment de l’indépendance. Il montre que la question n’est pas régie par des règles toutes faites de sorte que les conséquences d’une éventuelle accession du Québec à la souveraineté en termes de nationalité sont largement imprévisibles. Toutefois, la pratique des États laisse entrevoir certaines possibilités qui sont étudiées ici. D’autre part, ce texte étudie les principes qui régissent la compétence de l’État à l’égard des questions de nationalité et considère les différentes composantes d’un éventuel régime de la nationalité québécoise.
