Richtig schnell: Sogar ohne Unterstützung durch einen NH-Donorliganden ist der im Schema gezeigte Ru-Komplex ein bemerkenswert aktiver Präkatalysator für die Transferhydrierung vielfältiger Ketone in basischem iPrOH (R,R′=Alkyl oder Aryl). Die Reaktion liefert die Produkte innerhalb von Minuten in nahezu quantitativer Ausbeute mit hohen Umsatzfrequenzen (104–105 h−1).
