Abstract
In article number 1900019, Manpreet Kaur and Woo Soo Kim developed 3D-printed polymers structured with a unique truss design that can be “tuned” to different rigidities from soft and rubbery to hard and metallic. 3D printing gives the ability to manufacture the fingers very efficiently by integrating actuator, pressure sensor and 3D cellular body. A robotic gripper capable of adeptly handling soft objects without breaking or puncturing the objects. The designed cellular body system can potentially be utilized to cover a wide range of robotic applications.
