Wenn Kulturtheorien zu erklären versuchen, was das Internet ist, wird gerne auf Metaphern zurückgegriffen.Das beliebteste dieser Bilder ist das »globale Netz«: es vertraut darauf, dass wir eine räumliche Gestalt mit ihm verbinden, die aus verknüpften Fäden und Knoten besteht und etwas auffangen oder transportieren kann.Von Petrus zum Menschenfang gebraucht oder von Arachne gewebt, um die Götter herauszufordern, kann das »Netz« als eine Weltmetapher bezeichnet werden.Der semantische Kern des Be-1 griffs ist dinglich.Auch das »virtuelle Netz« des Internets hat einen solchen materiellen Charakter: Seit der Mitte des 19.Jahrhunderts führten elektrische Telegraphendrähte aus gelötetem Kupfer und geschmiedetem Eisen um die halbe Welt.Bis heute sind die Glasfaserkabel, die an ihre Stelle getreten sind, ihren Konkurrenten, den Satelliten, an Datenkapazität, 2 Übertragungsgeschwindigkeit und Lebensdauer überlegen.Am 5.
