Abstract
Depuis quelques décennies, les travaux historiques sur le Directoire se sont multipliés, à tel point que les années 1795-1799 sont aujourd’hui perçues comme un moment important de la Révolution française, et non plus seulement assimilées à une sorte de transition sans guère d’intérêt entre la « république jacobine » et le Consulat puis l’Empire. Des pans entiers de la légende noire du Directoire se sont tour à tour effondrés et nul n’oserait plus aujourd’hui se contenter d’évoquer une périod...
