Contexte des nouvelles entreprisesLes nouvelles entreprises peuvent contribuer de diverses façons à la croissance et à la vitalité de l'économie, dont entre autres les suivantes : 1. Elles peuvent générer un nombre considérable d'emplois.Ainsi, au Québec, entre 1979 et 1989, les petites entreprises de moins de 50 employés ont créé 496,500 emplois nets, alors que les entreprises de 500 employés et plus en perdaient 106,400 2 .Encore plus récemment, le nombre d'emplois créés par les petites entreprises représentait près de la totalité du nombre net d'emplois créés au sein de l'économie canadienne dans son ensemble entre le premier trimestre de 2001 et le trimestre correspondant de 2002 3 .
