Physical Data: colorless solid. Solubility: soluble in benzene. Form Supplied in: solid, 98% pure (Aldrich) in glass bottles. Analysis of Reagent Purity: 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 7.29–7.33 (m, 2H), 7.70–7.73 (m, 1H), 7.99–8.01 (m, 1H); 13C NMR (100 MHz, CDCl3) δ 121.7, 122.9, 124.4, 126.8, 135.6, 139.5; mp = 99–100 °C; bp1= 332–333 °C. Stable under normal storage conditions. Handling, Storage, and Precautions: 2 avoid contact with skin and eyes, may cause respiratory tract irritation. Toxic if swallowed. Preparative Methods: commercially available or it can be prepared by several methods that are outlined below.
