Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

This chapter begins by describing various types of heat exchangers and discusses their applications in various industries. It then considers some of the widely used heat exchangers in power generation, combined heat and power, and air conditioning systems, in order to comprehensively model and optimize them. In the chapter, shell and tube heat exchangers are modeled and optimized them with multi-objective optimization. After thermodynamic modeling of an industrial shell and tube heat recovery heat exchanger using the ε-number of transfer units (NTU) method and the Bell-Delaware approach, the heat exchanger is optimized. A multi-objective optimization method based on an evolutionary algorithm is applied to the shell and tube heat exchanger. Two objective functions are considered in the chapter for multi-objective optimization: exergy efficiency (to be maximized) and total cost rate of product (to be minimized).

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
